After Care Instructions
AFTERCARE BROWS
● Following your procedure, expect your color to be sharper, darker, and bolder than the final result. Once you have healed fully, the pigment generally will look softer and lighter. The darkest days are typically 2-4.
● Expect to see redness and slight swelling both in and around the brow area. Pigment (color) itself may appear warmer than expected due to red, irritated skin.
DAY 1
● Expect a small amount of fluid, weeping or blood. Firmly blot brows and wipe with a clean gauze or slightly damp paper towel to remove. Excess fluid may dry and form scabs too early. Blotting typically only needs to be done the day of your visit, but done often throughout the day.
EVERYDAY WHILE HEALING
● Cleanse brows morning and night with mild, gentle cleanser and pat dry with a clean paper product. (Dial or Cetaphil Gentle are good options)
● Apply After Inked with a clean q-tip or clean finger. After Inked may be applied several times during the day, however only a THIN layer should be used at any time. You may need to apply once a day, and you may need to apply 3-4 times a day… This is dependent on your skin. A good rule of thumb is apply whenever your skin looks or feels tight and dry. (For reference of how much cream you should be using - think the size of a grain of rice.)
● Brow area may begin to itch and appear slightly thicker in texture before taking on a flaky, dry, narrow appearance. Do not pick any flakes, allow them to fall off completely on their own.
● After all peeling/flaking is done, color usually takes on a hazy, too-dull, too-light, muted appearance. We call this the “Foggy Phase”. The color will return after healing is fully complete, typically between the 3rd and 4th week.
FOR TWO WEEKS AFTER PROCEDURE:
● Sleep on a clean pillowcase.
● Do not use active ingredient products on or around the eye/eyebrow area including, but not limited to: Retin A, Glycolic or Salicylic Acid.
● Do not use Peroxide or Neosporin on or around the area.
● Avoid all vigorous exercise and strenuous activity.
● Do not expose the treated area to direct sunlight or tanning beds.
● Avoid facials or invasive treatments
● No steam rooms/saunas or long hot showers.
● Avoid swimming in lakes, oceans, pools or hot tubs.
● Avoid all gardening and/or yard work.
● Avoid chemicals and irritants, particularly fine mist type products.
● Avoid ANY makeup directly on the treated area.
● Do not tint, wax, thread or tweeze eyebrows.
AFTERCARE LINER
● Following your procedure, expect your color to be sharper, darker, and bolder than the final result. Once you have healed fully, the pigment will look softer
● Expect to see redness, swelling, and possible bruising. Pigment may appear warmer than expected due to red skin.
DAY 1
● ICE ICE ICE as much as possible for the first several hours. Shoot for 10 minutes of every hour
● Even with icing, It is normal to wake up the next day still very swollen with a “I cried myself to sleep” look… Tight, puffy, tender.
EVERYDAY WHILE HEALING
● With your fingertips, wash eyes with a gentle cleanser, and rinse well. Eyes should be cleansed morning and night.
● Pat dry with a clean paper product, and do not scrub or pick at any time.
● Apply After Inked lotion as needed with a clean q-tip on dry skin only. - may be applied several times during the day, however only a THIN layer should be used at any time. A good rule of thumb is apply whenever your skin looks or feels tight and dry.
● Eyeliner may begin to itch and appear slightly thicker in texture before taking on a flaky, dry, narrow appearance. Do not pick any flakes, allow them to fall off completely on their own.
● After this time, eyeliner may take on a hazy, dull, light, muted appearance.
● Color will return {bloom} after healing is complete, typically between the 3rd and 4th week.
Keep in mind, when healing is complete, it is normal to have lighter/less saturated areas. You may lighten up to 30% the first time through.
FOR TWO WEEKS AFTER PROCEDURE:
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
1. NO MASCARA or eye makeup for 7 days, or until skin is no longer dry and flaky.
2. A brand new tube of mascara should be used when able to apply, and makeup brushes should be cleansed well before 1st use.
3. Sleep on a CLEAN PILLOWCASE.
4. Do not use too much lotion. Only a thin layer is needed at any time, the skin needs to “breathe” to heal properly.
5. Do not use ANY Retin A, Glycolic or Salicylic acid products at all while healing.
6. Do not use Peroxide or Neosporin on any treated area.
7. Avoid vigorous exercise and strenuous activity for 14 days.
8. Do not expose new eyeliner to direct sunlight or tanning beds for at least 14 days.
9. Avoid Facials, Steam, Heavy Sweating ( gym!!) and Long, Hot Showers for 14 days.
10. Avoid Swimming in Lakes, Ocean, Pools or Hot Tubs for at least 14 days.
11. Avoid gardening or yard work for 14 days.
12. Avoid chemicals and irritants for 14 days, particularly fine mist type products
SALON POLICIES
~Arrival more than 10 minutes late to any appointment, it will result in having to reschedule. If you are rescheduled due to being late,you will be charged 50% of your missed appointment, on top of the appointment fee. If you refuse the charge, you will not be scheduled again.
~Cancellations/Reschedules need to be made with at least a 24 hour notice. If you don’t cancel in advance, you will be charged 50% of your missed appointment, on top of the appointment fee. If you refuse the charge, you will not be scheduled again.
~No-Call / No-Shows are not tolerated. If you no-call / no-show any appointment, you will be charged 100% of your missed appointment. If this appointment is a no-charge perfecting visit, you will be charged $100 before being placed back on the schedule. If you refuse the charge, you will not be scheduled again.
~ A complimentary visit does not come with any service. Each appointment has a set price.
~ Balance is due the day of procedure. Cash & Credit Card are accepted. Credit Card transactions will have a fee of 2.75%. Checks are not accepted.
~If at any time, you go to another technician after Limitless Freedom Hair and PMU LLC has done your original procedure/s, We will no longer perform any future touch ups on you until color has faded. Without knowing exact products used, and the integrity of the other technician's work, quality cannot be predicted.
~Clients who have had procedures performed by another technician will be charged the full new procedure price, according to the normal fee schedule, regardless of the procedure. We reserve the right to refuse any service or procedure. Any adjustment to fees or policies are at Limitless Freedom Hair and PMU LLC sole discretion, and are made on a case-by-case basis, if applicable.
~Due to the nature of your visit, no children are allowed in the treatment room during any procedure. We also ask that no children are in the front salon waiting area as you will be unable to attend to them. If you arrive with children, the appointment will be rescheduled, and marked as a last minute cancellation.
~ If you are sick, getting sick, or have had any symptoms in the last FIVE-SEVEN days, reschedule your appointment, with proper notice. If you come to your appointment appear sick, or show signs/symptoms, the appointment will be canceled. Please be considerate.
